DM: After what seamed like a week of nothingness, you are all summoned back into the temple, though not into the room where you met Himo. But into the sanctuary, where the common people worship. Before you can enter, however a white robed cleric stands at the door, and rases a hand to you.
Please, objects of violence are not allowed onto holy ground (he motiones to a basket on the ground.), I assure you that they will not be taken by anyone.
(players leave wepons)
Thank you. now please, the orderly is expecting you.
(Players keep weapons)
DC: 20 Intemadate check)
All right, alright, fine, keep your weapons, but don't think that anyone in there will appreciate it. (rank -1/2) attatude goes down. -1.
DM: Himo notes your arival with a glance.
Himo: Gentelmen, I'll like to introduce you to the adventures who recoved the Burial Shroud of Palstansta, and are also the reason that we are here today: (Name the name, name the name etc) and who are also our newest (Rank).
Near the altar, and seeted on the first few pews was a group of around 15-20 people, all of whom dressed in clerical garb. You are easly able to pick out there leaders, a male dwarf cleric in red robes, a female Humen cleric in purple robes, and a male elven cleric in orange robes.
Responce:
Attitude Friendly:
The Humen looks over at you and smiles.
Welcome brothers (and sisters), Himo has just finished reconting your exsploration into the chirch of St Palstansta, and we are all grateful for not just the shroud, but the information that you have gotten for us all.
The red-robed dwarf noods.
Yes, as you can no dought but tell, this information conserns not only your church, but the faiths of Boccob, Corellon Larethian, and of Kord as well.
The elf speekds up and says: Green is not a natural collor for human eyes, it is a product of elven blood, and though a little bit of recerch prior to your arival, we have concluded that St Palstansta was indeed half-elven.
And thus the elf wants St Palstansta to become a elven saint, rather than a human one. the dwarf finishes.
Thats not what this inverstagation is necessarily about, the human interjects, rather it is about St Palstansta's Sainthood, itself.
Dm: She turns to you.
Human: you are familular with the prosses of saint-afaction, correct?
(players yes)
Then you relise that somoesn can not be made a saint while being alive, and thats hat this while meating is about, is Palstansta alive?
(Players no)
As there are many different faiths in the world, it takes a long time for them to unanimously agree on the sanctification of a particular being. On advrage, it will take 30-40 years, depending on the controversy surrounding a potential saint.
"But its not about the time that it takes to sainthood that casuses this problem" The dwarf interjects. Its the fact that the candadate must be dead!"
Yes, the human said. "In order to qualify for becoming a saint, the candidate must be dead. And stay dead. If a saint is resurrected, he loses his sainthood status. Why? Look at the honor that we give saints, most mortals, from past, have abused that honor, and became corrupted out of there own sainthood.
Adn thus the problem being, that we need to determin weather Palstansta is alive or dead, and we don't know how.
(Try resurrecting her)
Unforchintly resurrection has its limits. it can only resurrect someone who'ss been dead for so long. Palstansta died almost 500 years ago, we cant stretch back that far.
Himo: and Im afraid that thats bene the state of things for that last little wile. Any Idea's adventurers?
(Idea's)
Perhaps it would help if they recounted there experience first-hand. (Someone suggests)
(Recount)
So, you shure this was not an illusion? If caraters cannot prove, Himo: I sent clerics into the ruins after they returned. They were unable to get close to the saints bead, due to a force field.)
(The removal of the blanket caused this?)
"It whould seam that the saint has an attachment to artafacts." the oraged robed elf suggects. "So, perhaps if we were to collect more of these artifacts, the saint would show herself, and we could get a fix on her location, weather in the Fields of heaven, or somewhere on this world.
"But who to send?" the Humen askes.
Himo: Well, we just so happen to have a nice group of adventures right here, don't we?
"What makes you think that the'll agree to go relic hunting for the chirch?"
(Other than the fact that they are members?) Himo turns to the adventurers. If you are able to remidy this little problem for the chirch, I'll be more than willing to tell you about PHIERAN.
Deal? Himo holds out his hand. to a random adventurer.
(Player shakes)
Wonderful, I can tell you you wont regret this.
There is another shrine to Palstansta, its to the north, though the Hills of Derreen. Its a few miles, so I wouldn't recommend going without stocking up on food and other traveling supplies.
Himo takes out a map. It shows the location of Shanedon, the Hills of Derreen, the shrine of Palstansta, and a nearby town, Dowra.
Himo: The hills are long, I'd estimate it will be a 5-6 day walk, depending on the weight of your gear, hear, take this map.(Himo gives map to closest ca rater) Don't want you getting lost.
You are then escorted out of the sancuarty, and he hand you your weapons.
(shoping)
(leave for the Palstansta shrine)
